Thanks to its long and rich cultural history, London Bridge remains one of the most iconic areas in London and the UK. It’s hugely popular with tourists and Londoners and offers a strong economic base for countless businesses operating in an array of sectors.

In recent years, regeneration has enhanced the appeal of London Bridge to a growing number of companies and the London Bridge Plan devised by Southwark Council is helping to create an exciting vision for the future to improve the lives of residential and business communities nearby.

Here we take a closer look at some of the new property developments near London Bridge that are planned or in development for 2022/23.

London Square

Taking inspiration from the former Branston Pickle Factory that originally stood in its location, London Square Bermondsey is an award-winning development located 12 minutes from London Bridge Station that will provide a range of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments and duplexes. Located opposite the White Cube gallery, there will be a total of 29 luxury apartments available to buy.

Lazenby Square

Lazenby Square is a large residential complex consisting of 4 buildings, offering a range of 1 and 2-bedroom apartments that will be available through shared ownership. Select apartments will have access to winter gardens, while there will be communal gardens for all, exclusive gym access and a dedicated concierge service.

Wheelchair adaptable homes will also be available and London Bridge station is within walking distance. The first two buildings will be completed in the first quarter of 2022.

Millwall Stadium

3,500 new homes are set to be built close to the Millwall football stadium, along with an auditorium (containing 800 seats) and a new sports facility. Approximately one third of the flats will be classed as affordable, with planning approval already granted for Phase 1 of the development.

The housing scheme is situated close by to South Bermondsey station, which offers easy access into London Bridge, however, a new London Overground station tentatively called Surrey Canal Road is set to be built next door to the development, with work required to start by the end of 2024.

Featherstone Homes development

A £30m mixed use residential and commercial development in Bermondsey will feature 61 new apartments, with 1600m2 of commercial space available on the ground and first floor. In all there will be four new blocks ranging between 5-9 storeys in height, with both London Bridge and Canary Wharf reachable by train in only 5 minutes.

The apartments will include shared ownership and affordable options, while residents will have access to play areas and communal spaces, including rooftop terraces.

Spa Gardens

This student-focussed development is due for completion in late 2022 and will sit opposite Spa Gardens. Once built it will feature 185 studio rooms across 5 floors, along with a gym, cinema, study room, roof lounge and additional social space.

The building will only be 500 metres away from Bermondsey tube station, with London Bridge within walking distance.

Lynton Residence

Located in Bermondsey, Lynton Residence will offer 19 stylise 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments, each one complete with its own balcony and easy access to a beautiful roof terrace. South Bermondsey station is less than half a mile away, offering direct trains to London Bridge and the tube network
